Re: Youth Leadership Workshop – FREE!
PSA Title: “FLAVOUR” - FREE Youth Leadership Development Workshop September 29th!

The City of Victoria Youth Council, Beatboard Interactive Youth Programs and the YouthRoots Program is proud to present a free, interactive, and dynamic communication, digital story telling and community development workshop event on Saturday, September 29th 11:00-4:00pm at the Victoria Event Centre located at 1415 Broad Street.
The workshop event will include a variety of innovative community building strategies and communication training exercises for youth 14-18, and adults who care for and work with youth. Free for all participants, the workshop will explore and focus on:

Enhancing group leadership skills and creative thinking abilities

Exploring and celebrate cultural identify, diversity and respect for others

Promoting reflection and self-expression through traditional and contemporary arts
-
Developing multimedia digital story telling skills
-
Exploring conflict resolution tools, develop confidence, and help build meaningful and lasting relationships based on community engagement
Participants will gain a new perspective on their own abilities and assets and be empowered to take on leadership roles in their community.
This is the first of a three part workshop event series produced collaboratively by BeatBoard.org, the City of Victoria Youth Council and the YouthRoots Program.
The next two workshops are scheduled for:
- Saturday and Sunday October 13th and 14th: Youth Facilitator Training
- Saturday and Sunday November 17th and 18th: Digital Storytelling
Free for all youth 24 years and under, registration is optional. We strongly suggest pre-registration by phone at 383-5800 or email youth@lifecyclesproject.ca to ensure a spot for you and your friends!
